How to get around
San Sebastián is a city designed to travel on foot. You can get around easily and have various public transport options between the different points of the city.

Pedestrians
San Sebastián is a city that encourages you to take a walk. It was designed on a human scale so you can get around very easily, thanks to the short distances, its extensive pedestrianised area and its marvellous promenades along the river.

By bike
The city is perfectly suited to bicycles, with more than 30 km of cycle lanes and more than 77 km of separate paths for safe cycling. It has various bicycle hire businesses.

Public transport
Dbus provides an urban bus service in San Sebastián. You can pay by card directly on the bus and you can also use the tourist cards that offer discounts in museums, restaurants and shops.
Dbus has a night bus service at called “Búhos” meaning owls. The majority of these lines start at midnight and end at 4 am. They run on Fridays, Saturdays and on the eve of bank holidays only, always from San Sebastián Boulevard.
Public transport is the best option for getting around the low-emissions zone, which covers the city centre and bans vehicles that do not comply with certain environmental requirements.

By taxi
San Sebastián has a fleet of taxis that operate 24 hours a day. The rates are officially set and are metered. In San Sebastián, taxis don’t stop in the street; got to a taxi rank or call by telephone.

By car
If you come to the city by car, San Sebastián has more than 6000 parking spaces. We recommended you use one of the car parks and get around with public transport, especially at busier times.
