Day 3: Discovering the architecture

Delve into in the city’s architectural treasures following the course of the River Urumea and its magnificent bridges.

From the first, the Zurriola Bridge, on one side you’ll see the modern cubes of the Kursaal, by the architect Rafael Moneo, and on the other side the Victoria Eugenia Theatre and the 5-star María Cristina Hotel.

The Santa Catalina Bridge welcomes you to the district of Gros. From here you can contemplate the Equitativa, an expressionist-rationalist style building.

Follow the delightful Paseo de Francia and enjoy the unique exhibitions at the Tabakalera, a former tobacco factory transformed into a centre for contemporary culture.

The Tabakalera is very close to Cristina Enea park, where you can take a relaxing stroll and visit the Duke of Mandas’ former palace.
Donostia is great for food
Basque cuisine’s best products, prepared by the most talented chefs in the world. Are you going to miss out?

After lunch, visit the Buen Pastor Cathedral and enjoy a few hours of shopping in the Romantic Quarter and the surroundings of Calle San Martín, full of terraces and shops.

The area around San Martín Market is perfect for a bit of shopping in chic shops, alternative stores and big name boutiques.

El Náutico is a rationalist building that emulates a boat docked at the quay. From the wharf you can appreciate one of the best sunsets in Donostia.

Round off the day in one of the areas with the best nightlife in the city. Try the best pintxos and enjoy the evening in the districts of Gros, Antiguo, the Centre or the Old Quarter.
Have dinner in the hottest bars
You can also enjoy the magic of Donostia at night. Mix with the locals in the city’s fashionable bars and end the day on a high.
