Day 1: Gems in the Old Quarter

In the morning go up Mount Urgull at the heart of the city to enjoy the only part of Donostia where you can see all three beaches, as well as the remains of the city wall and cannons, that hint at the city’s military past.

To round off the historical route, you can visit La Mota castle, the Casa de la Historia or the English Cemetery.

At lunch time go down to the Port and wander the streets of the Old Quarter enjoying the famous pintxos, miniature culinary delights, and markets including La Bretxa.

Head to Plaza de la Constitución, at the heart of the Old Quarter, to find out the reason behind its numbered balconies.

In the afternoon, a stroll around the Romantic quarter heading towards La Concha beach with its iconic railings for an unforgettable sunset.

Wind up the day in the Museo del Whisky pub, a piano-bar with one of the largest collections of whiskies in the world: more than 3,400 bottles.
